Gemeente Rotterdam
Dares to say
The Dare Company, in collaboration with the municipality of Rotterdam, is carrying out the #Durftezeggen campaign in Rotterdam. The campaign focuses on language in combination with health care. Language plays an important role in health improvement, because low literacy can lead to high costs in health care. With the campaign, care providers are asked to pay attention to low literacy in their practice space in order to make this issue discussable.
Printed matter
The municipality of Rotterdam has set up the #Durftezeggen campaign to put low literacy issues on the map in Rotterdam. For this project, Yes We Care was looking for a partner for the development and implementation of the overall design. The Dare Company has provided the logo, posters, referral notes and infographics per area. The posters contain low-literate people from Rotterdam who share their problems with reading or writing. The infograpics show the area profiles in an interactive way. The referral letters refer to all institutions that provide assistance to people with reading, pronunciation and writing problems.
Look & Feel
We consciously chose for a sturdy, though look that fits the image of the city of Rotterdam. This is also visible in the use of green and white. Using the hashtag and speech bubble in the logo and corporate identity links to the message of the campaign as well as creating a sense of relevance and recognizability.
Language touches everyone
The #Daretosay campaign is part of the project “Language touches everyone”, initiated by the city of Rotterdam in order to break the taboo around illiteracy and to provide the best care. During the Flag Parade in the city center, the flag of The Dare Company was represented, because we as a marketing and communication agency strongly believe in the strength of language.
